JKASA Online plans to commence its first school year during August 2013 and will provide online education to students throughout South Carolina for grades 10, 11, and 12. Theses are very important years for students who need to be prepared to go on to college or enter the work force after graduation with solid skills. JKASA Online courses are totally taught at a distance through the internet and provide a complete high school curriculum. JkASA Online is tuition free. Online education provides students with flexibility in taking their courses allowing them to complete their assignments where and when their situation allows them to. For instance some students need to work to help support themselves or their families.

Research by the U.S. Department of Education has demonstrated that online education is as effective, if not more effective then traditional classrooom education. The Secretary of Education for South Carolina supports online education. Why is it effective? Online education is student "centric" or focused on the students with an understanding that each individual is unique and that there are differnt learning styles; differnet types of intelligences; and differnet personalities. The teacher who works with each student individually recognizes these differences and tailors assignments to accommmodate these differences thereby accelerating individual learning. Our tachers will be spedifically trained in this teaching methodology. Additionally, students who may have attention "exceptionalities" will be assessed and receive specific support to overcome learning difficulties.
